Numbers 6:2-3

2 “Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When either a man or a woman makes a special vow, the vow of ^aa Nazirite, ^{▼▼ Nazirite means one separated, or one consecrated} ^cto separate himself to the Lord, 3 he ^dshall separate himself from wine and strong drink. He shall drink no vinegar made from wine or strong drink and shall not drink any juice of grapes or eat grapes, fresh or dried.

Numbers 6:5

5 “All the days of his vow of separation, no ^erazor shall touch his head. Until the time is completed for which he separates himself to the Lord, he shall be holy. ^fHe shall let the locks of hair of his head grow long.

1 Samuel 1:11

11 And she ^gvowed a vow and said, “O Lord of hosts, if you will indeed ^hlook on the affliction of your servant and ⁱremember me and not forget your servant, but will give to your servant a son, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, ^jand no razor shall touch his head.”
